What I’m up to right now!
August 2026: I competed at the Sadecki State Weightlifting Meet (2026-08-15), taking first place in the Mens 95kg category. This was my third time winning the state championship, and I am pushing for a good finish at 2027 Nationals. I’ll keep updating my lifting progress here for anyone interested.
I totalled 295kg, at 89.34kg, definitely in the top 5 performances I have had, but still not beating my totals from 2023 and 2024. This is fine by my because I have been lifting on and off for a while, and ran a half-marathon in May.
Outside of lifting I have been busy with work. I need to find more time to for all of my hobbies. This website hasn’t been seeing many updates, and I have stopped working on my game entirely. But that won’t be for long! I am planning to get back to more regular updates here. I have completed the migration of this website to my OpenBSD server, and am enjoying the feeling of doing things myself. I want to do some writeups of all the things I am learning, because doing things the “UNIX” way is eye-opening to say the least.
Books I am currently reading
“Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” by Robert M. Pirsig
I am listening to “God of the Woods” by Liz Moore on dog walks. It reminds me a lot of “Piranessi”, like some crucial pieces of information being hidden from the reader.
And, when I have time, I have been working through “An Introduction to Programming in Emacs Lisp” by Robert J. Chassell. I migrated all of the exporting and management of this website to Emacs, so I wanted to learn how to use my tools more effectively.
What is this page?
A now page is described by the creator, Derek Sivers, as what you are working on right now! It can be anything from a public declaration of priorities, to what you might tell a friend you haven’t seen in a while.
You can read more about it here.
